Madam Joanna Anorkor Lartey, the Tema Metro HIV/TB Coordinator, informed the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the gathering focused on evaluating healthcare results and formulating tactics for enhancing health promotion and preventing diseases.

Mrs. Lartey further mentioned that this provided an opportunity to discuss the obstacles and aspects requiring enhancement in managing HIV/AIDS, along with potential solutions and strategies aimed at assistance.

The team members also talked about their responsibilities in managing clients effectively and efficiently.

Participants were drawn from both the private and public facilities within the metropolis as well as representatives from the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) and the HIV/AIDS self-testing ambassador for Tema.

Madam Lartey mentioned that among the challenges noted were the inadequate cooperation between the staff caring for HIV patients and the HIV specialists, which hindered each group from fully performing their respective roles.

Another challenge is the absence of privacy, particularly within private institutions catering to different groups, making it difficult for them to conduct their operations.

The AIDS coordinator motivated the entire team at the ART clinics to work closely together across different roles to enhance efficient patient care. They also asked managers of private health centers to allocate an appropriate space where these professionals can conduct their routine tasks smoothly.
