Sammi Awuku Revamps Dialysis Center at Tetteh Quarshie Hospital

On Friday, May 2, 2025, the MP for Akuapem North, Sammi Awuku, inaugurated a recently refurbished Dialysis Center at the Tetteh Quarshie Memorial Hospital within the Eastern Region. He referred to this event as heralding "a new era for medical care" in his constituency.

At the commissioning ceremony, the Member of Parliament conveyed his deep satisfaction with the project’s conclusion, stating that it would greatly improve accessibility to essential treatment for patients dealing with kidney issues.

Today, my heart brims with joy," stated Mr Awuku. "We inaugurated the recently refurbished Dialysis Center at the Tetteh Quarshie Memorial Hospital, marking a fresh beginning for medical care in our cherished Akuapem North district.

He pointed out that the project mirrored the community’s collective commitment to bettering lives and strengthening healthcare services.

"This initiative truly embodies our shared dedication to saving lives and making high-quality healthcare more accessible to everyone—eliminating the need for lengthy travels to address kidney issues," he stated.

Mr Awuku also mentioned that high-quality healthcare was a key pledge during his campaign and expressed satisfaction at seeing this commitment come to fruition.

"Ensuring quality healthcare was a central commitment in my manifesto, and I am pleased that we are now transforming those promises into concrete initiatives, step by step," he said.

He showed appreciation to the Speaker of Parliament, Rt Hon Alban S.K. Bagbin, for attending the event as well as making an individual contribution towards finishing the project.

"I am profoundly thankful to the Speaker of Parliament, Alban S.K. Bagbin, for participating in this special event and for his kind contribution towards our initiative," he stated.

Mr Awuku also expressed his gratitude to the traditional leaders, community members, and important collaborators for their contributions to the successful completion of the renovations.

To our esteemed leaders, the valued residents of Akuapem North, and everyone who participated—you have been instrumental in achieving something genuinely significant," he stated. "A special thank you goes to SHEILD Ghana for spearheading this initiative with enthusiasm, and to Enterprise Group PLC for supporting us every step of the way.

He stated, "This is how progress appears, and gradually, we will keep building Okuapeman."

On Saturday, May 3, 2025, Mr. Awuku focused on educational matters, dedicating the entire day to interacting with the BECE candidates from the constituency.

Characterizing it as a "feel-good day," the Member of Parliament motivated the students to tackle their exams with confidence and determination.

"As usual, I contributed some math kits to help with their voyage since even small gestures can make a big difference, and every promising future should have access to the proper resources along with an added boost of encouragement," he stated.

He encouraged the participants to do their utmost and bring pride to Akuapem North.

"Go get it and make Okuapeman proud. You've got this!" he encouraged the students.
