Susan Adebisi Ajibade is an actress, a certified event planner, a nutritionist and Chief Executive Officer of Splash Greens, an outfit that has been thriving for a decade. In this interview, she speaks about life as an actress and nutritionist, role of dedication in entrepreneurship, business acumen and succeeding as an entrepreneur among other issues.
One of your passions outside of acting is nutrition. What’s your approach to creating personalised nutrition plans for clients with specific dietary needs or restrictions?
Over the past decade, my passion for nutrition and wellness has informed my approach to creating personalised nutrition plans tailored to clients with specific dietary needs or restrictions. My process always begins with a thorough consultation, where I listen closely to understand each client’s unique challenges, allergies, and health goals. This personalised insight allows me to design nutrition plans that genuinely meet their needs.
At Splash Greens, we believe in the power of fresh fruits and vegetables as the foundation for vibrant health. I carefully review our range of meal plans and products to find the best options that align with each client’s requirements. When needed, I customise and adapt these plans, ensuring that every individual receives a tailored, effective, and enjoyable nutrition experience.
Celebrating a decade in business, Splash Greens remains committed to helping people live healthier lives through thoughtful, personalised nutrition solutions.
How do you stay updated on latest research and trends in nutrition, and how do you incorporate that into your practice?
When it comes to nutrition, I believe there are foundational principles that remain constant and should never be compromised. However, the field is constantly evolving with new research and trends emerging regularly. To stay current and provide the best for Splash Greens, I approach these latest developments with care and thoughtfulness.
Whenever a new trend or study surfaces, I thoroughly investigate its validity, ensuring the information is genuine, evidence-based, and not just hype. I avoid rushing into adopting anything without proper scrutiny.
Beyond that, I commit to continuous learning through daily research, enrolling in online courses, and reading books on nutrition. This ongoing education helps me stay grounded and knowledgeable, ensuring that any new insights I incorporate into Splash Greens are backed by a solid understanding and align with our core values.
What inspired you to start your own nutrition business, and what challenges did you face?
When I started Splash Greens in 2015, it wasn’t entirely out of passion, at least, not at first. I was simply trying to make ends meet. I wanted to create something for myself, earn a living, and prove to some people and perhaps even to myself, that I could succeed. It was about independence, survival, and making a statement.
But as I dug deeper into the business, something changed. I began to witness firsthand how important health and wellness are to everyday life, how powerful food and nutrition can be in transforming people’s lives. And in that journey, I found my passion. What started as a means to survive became a purpose I now live for.
The road hasn’t been easy. From the very beginning, I faced numerous challenges. Getting capital to start was a significant hurdle. As the business grew, scaling up became another considerable challenge meeting demand, managing logistics, and maintaining quality.
Gaining visibility in a crowded market requires time, patience, and a strategic approach. Every stage brought a new learning curve, from operations to branding and beyond.
And truthfully, the challenges haven’t stopped. They evolve. But every single day, I rise to the occasion and tackle them, one step, one lesson, one solution at a time.
How do you think your experience as an actress has influenced your approach to nutrition and wellness?
My background as an actress has had a powerful influence on how I approach my nutrition business. Acting taught me the importance of discipline, routine, and being deeply in tune with my body and those lessons naturally translated into how I think about food, health, and wellness.

As an actress, I had to be camera-ready, emotionally present, and full of energy for long days on set or stage. That meant learning early on how food impacted not just my body, but my mood, focus, and overall performance. I saw firsthand how poor nutrition can lead to burnout, brain fog, or breakouts – things that directly affected my work. This curiosity eventually led me to become passionate about finding better, more sustainable ways to nourish myself.
Now, in my nutrition business, I bring that same performance mindset to the table. I don’t just talk about healthy eating; I understand what it means to need practical, performance-based nutrition that works in real life. Whether you’re a busy professional, a creative, or a parent, I design my offerings with the awareness that food isn’t just fuel—it’s support for everything you need to show up and perform in your daily life.
Being an actress also sharpened my empathy. I know what it feels like to be under pressure, to need quick solutions that still honour your body, and to want to feel confident in your skin. That perspective helps me connect deeply with my clients and create wellness experiences that feel personal, empowering, and sustainable.
And in many ways, the influence goes both ways. What I’ve learned through nutrition and wellness now enhances how I show up as an actress, making me more grounded, more energised, and more present in my craft.
Do you have a favourite wellness routine or self-care practice that helps you manage stress and maintain your energy?
To manage stress and stay energised, I meditate regularly, exercise to keep my body active, make time to rest, and go out with friends to recharge emotionally.
How does nutrition and wellness impact mental health and performance in the entertainment industry?
Nutrition and wellness play a key role in supporting mental health and performance in the entertainment industry. A balanced diet helps regulate mood, boost energy levels, and improve focus—essential for long rehearsals, concerts, and public appearances. Proper hydration, quality sleep, and regular physical activity reduce stress, enhance emotional resilience, and prevent burnout. Since the industry often involves irregular schedules and high pressure, maintaining wellness habits helps artists stay mentally sharp, emotionally balanced, and physically strong for sustained success.
