
Gandhinagar (Gujarat), India, July 13 (ANI): The 31st edition of Fit India Sunday Cycling took place smoothly across the country on Sunday morning under the leadership of the Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Mansukh Mandaviya Headed a gathering of more than 500 attendees in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, according to an announcement from SAI media.
This week's nationwide cycling initiative, organized in collaboration with Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), saw involvement from more than 7,000 sites throughout the nation, emphasizing the slogan "Fitness Ki Dose, Aadha Ghanta Roz." Participation was also drawn from 3,000 Namo Fit India Cycling clubs.
The Fit India 'Sundays on Cycle' campaign has evolved into a strong national movement, continuing the efforts of Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi "Launch the Fit India initiative with full vigor. It has genuinely evolved into a campaign that goes beyond fitness, symbolizing nationwide change. Over 7000 locations have seen active involvement from young people in this effort," stated Mandaviya during an event in Gujarat, according to a statement released by SAI media.
Mandaviya engaged with the Indian Youth Women's Handball squad, who are participating in their national training session at the SAI NCOE Gandhinagar. The Gandhinagar gathering was launched by Arjuna Award winner and Para Powerlifting Head Coach, Rajinder Singh Rahelu, at SAI Gandhinagar. Notable figures from the region, such as MLAs, the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, District Collector, and Superintendent of Police, were present at the event.
Attendees at these gatherings comprised individuals from prominent public sector undertakings such as PSPB, ONGC, Indian Oil, GAIL, HPCL, BPCL, EIL, Oil India, CPCL, IGL, NRL, MNGL, HMEL, Petronet LNG, Balmer Lawrie, Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited, along with ONGC MRPL, Gujarat Metro, NPCC, WAPCOS, LIC, and others.
Lalit Kumar Watts, an advisor with the Petroleum Sports Promotion Board (PSPB), stated, "The" Fit India Sunday Cycling is an excellent effort led by the esteemed Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the honorable Minister of Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya All oil companies affiliated with PSPB participated in this cycling event, along with athletes from hockey, basketball, shooting, track and field, and carom who also joined today.
At the national capital New Delhi, the 31st edition of the Fit India Sundays Cycling occurred at the Major Dhyanchand Stadium in a festive environment featuring activities such as jump roping, Zumba, and Hatha Yoga. A former WWE World Heavyweight Champion, he remains the sole Indian individual to have achieved this distinction. The Great Khali , kicked off the event. Over 3000 people, both young and old, attended this gathering of fitness lovers; Khali, aged 52, highlighted how crucial physical health is for India to become a 'global leader'.

Khali, known as Dalip Singh Rana, also encouraged young people to "avoid narcotics" and concentrate on beneficial activities such as exercise and athletics.
A limited release of the Fit India Sunday Cycling Was also held in partnership with the Raahgiri Foundation in Gurgaon, where 700 people took part in cycling, practiced yoga, and engaged in various entertaining activities such as street dancing, ludo, carrom, snakes and ladders, hand drawing, and many others.
The Fit India Sundays Cycling is organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS), working together with the Cycling Federation of India (CFI), MY Bharat, and Rope Skipping directed by Shikha Gupta and Yoga Asanas Bharat. Over 3,000 Cycling Clubs are involved in this initiative and take part regularly every Sunday. These cycling events are organized by multiple Khelo India Centres (KICs), Khelo India State Centres of Excellence (KISCEs), SAI Training Centres (STCs), Khelo India Certified Academies (KIAAs), Regional Centers (RCs), along with numerous National Centers of Excellence (NCOEs) throughout the nation.
